Hi Sue, I wrote on my blog about the banana permit process in the hope others may not be so intimidated by what's involved - you really did help with all your feedback. The process is somewhat daunting if you've never done it before. Your website (especially the FAQ's) was helpful in that regard, but then you talked me through the process through our emails too. It really did help, so thank you. I hope others are encouraged now to get their own banana stock.
I'm really happy with our two banana plants. I think the setback with the Ladyfinger was location, as the heat deflecting from the garden shed created a dry heat instead of a humid heat. Placing it near a bunch of other plants changed all that. The growth has increased two-fold almost immediately, and that's despite being relocated. I can't believe how quickly the Dwarf Ducasse is growing however. A new leaf seems to be forming every second or third day.
